11/20/2023 0 Comments Aqua terra world time![]() This particular watch comes complete with its Omega box, swing ticket and all relevant paperwork being originally UK supplied as new in February 2020. Its blue main dial has vertical teak stripes, surrounded by two sun-brushed blue outer perimeter discs displaying the 24 cities. ![]() Of course, to many (and to me, for a long time), worldtimer means there’s a ring with 24 different cities on it, with a 24-hour scale that updates accordingly. The dial is surrounded by a polished finish stainless steel domed bezel and the watch comes on a full retail length stainless steel Omega Aqua Terra bracelet. The point here is this: Omega should feel bad about their Omega Aqua Terra Worldtimer because it isn’t a worldtimer. The contrasting colours of the Earth’s surface are obtained naturally by the laser’s chemical reaction. This has been laser-ablated to create the blue ocean, leaving a relief of the continents. The vision of Earth is created on a grade 5 titanium plate. The centre of the dial contains a 24-hour glass ring, with light blue to indicate daytime and dark blue to indicate night. At this year’s Baselworld, Omega introduced the Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer Master Chronometer Limited Edition, a totally new Aqua Terra with a 43mm platinum case, in-house METAS-certified Master Chronometer 8939 movement, and a hand-crafted enamel world map on its dial. It certainly does have a quickset 12h hand. An unworn automatic, co-axial master chronometer calibre 8938, stainless steel gentleman's 43mm case size Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M GMT Worldtimer (220.10.43.22.03.001) featuring a sun-brushed blue baton dial with vertical teak stripes, housing a date aperture at 6 O'clock and a circle of global destinations printed in red (GMT), silvery (+1h in summer) and blue (places without daylight savings). It certainly does show 24 time zones referenced against a ring that shows 24 city names.
